Five Friday Faves

Five Friday Faves

Hello friends---it's Friday! We are surprising the girls with a short weekend trip to Disney this weekend and I think I'm more excited than they are going to be. Epcot is having their Flower and Garden Festival and, as usual, with any  of their festival there are food carts and delicious food and drink options. I've already scouted out some of the offerings on the Disney Food Blog. While I will be enjoying some of their offerings, I am going to try to steer clear of anything grossly unhealthy.

Spring Books!

Spring Books!

Spring is definitely in the air here in Florida. We have had 70's and sunny as well as a couple cooler days sprinkled throughout. The girls are loving our themed books since Christmas (post here for Valentine's Books) so we are going to keep it going with Spring and Easter books. Some of these are classics and some are just for fun. To be honest, we are still reading our way through these but the girls already have some favorites picked out.

Going All Natural

Going All Natural

When the new year started, I decided to get back to using more natural products. There wasn't one specific thing that pushed me to this decision, and we do already use a lot of natural products but I wanted to take it one step further. Throughout the last month, I have found some really great products and thought I share some of them in case you are on the hunt as well.

Girls' Bedroom Redo

Girls' Bedroom Redo

Back in August I talked about my idea to put the girls together and change Macie's bedroom into a playroom. In November, we moved them together on a trial basis. In December, since everything was going well, we purchased bunk beds from Ikea and considered the move permanent! I am sleeping better than I have in the last five years and the girls seem to really enjoy both the bedroom and their playroom more than they ever enjoyed their individual rooms.

Valentine Book Picks

Valentine Book Picks

Over the last six months I have been intentionally rotating books for the girls. Instead of them going into a closet full of books to pick something to read, I've been selecting a few books of a similar theme and leaving those in their room to read throughout the month. This was a huge hit with Christmas books so I decided to do the same for Valentine's Day.

New Baby Must Haves!

New Baby Must Haves!

My best friend is pregnant and I could not be more excited! From the day she got married, I have looked forward to the moment I would be able to experience motherhood with her. Her shower is the weekend and as I was perusing the aisles of Babies r' Us, I was thinking about my own journey into motherhood, the moments in the beginning praying Google or an internet stranger would help assure me I was doing the right thing.

Hand Lettering Tips

Hand Lettering Tips

If you’ve been anywhere near social media in the last year you have probably seen sped up videos showing hand lettering or calligraphy. These videos immediately grabbed my attention and I decided I had to learn to do this. I followed a few accounts on Instagram that specialized in this and watched YouTube videos. After I ordered some supplies, I was ready to start.

The Girls' Top Reading Picks

The Girls' Top Reading Picks

Every night I snuggle into the recliner with Macie and sometimes Henley joins us. With one girl on each side of me, we start reading. Macie typically pushes for at least four or five books, Mom is usually done after two, although more times than not, I give in. We have some really cute favorites we've been reading lately so I thought I'd share.
